Macronutrient Counting is another version of Calorie Counting except you are looking at what is IN your food, not just tracking empty calories.
In order to make this crazy awesome plan work, YOU DO HAVE TO TRACK YOUR FOOD. Which is really something I believe you should do regardless.
If you don't know what you are intaking (or putting IN your body), you will have no idea of where to start in terms of changing your diet/altering your intake.
I know everyone's excuse for not wanting to track their food is that
"it takes too much time" but in reality, we are all on our phones constantly. It takes literally 2 minutes (OUT OF YOUR ENTIRE DAY) to track your meals, and it will be well worth it in the end. I use My Fitness Pal to track mine!
I would also highly suggest working with a professional to calculate your macros for you. There are online calculators that will spit out numbers for you based on a general calculation, but since your body and heath are 100% personalized; so should your diet. You need someone that will work with you 1-on-1 and adjust numbers for you as needed depending on how your body responds.
