MYTH #1: TOns of Cardio alone will result in fat loss.

False. The most smart and effective type of exercise program will combine cardio, resistance training, and proper nutrition.  However,  when i first sit down with my clients i usually tell them this: learn to separate what cardio actually does from what you want it to be doing. Cardio is essential for your heart health, and will help you control things like your blood pressure, blood sugar, circulation, and cholesterol. This is why it is an essential component of training. it is not, however, the best method of exercise for fat burning.
What is??? resistance training. What does that mean exactly? weight training, body weight training, anything that builds muscle will help you to burn fat.
why? Muscle mass helps to increase your resting metabolic rate. In english... building muscle will help your body to burn more calories all throughout the day, not just while you are working out.
the more muscle you build = the more fat your body can burn.

So get the most out of your time in the gym. Choose a well-rounded program that combines all 3 aspects of health.
